Oksana Couture’s spring fashion show supports a popular 10-week long fundraising campaign

San Francisco, CA (June 26, 2008) —  Revealing one of the best-kept secrets of the fashion industry, Oksana Couture hosted a fashion show on April 24 at Frey Norris Gallery in support of the fundraising efforts of Valeria Kholostenko. Ms. Kholostenko was one of eight honorees for the 2008 Man & Woman of the Year Campaign, a fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s San Francisco Bay Area Chapter.

Because of the exclusivity of Oksana Couture—only one to two of each gown is ever in the United States at any given time—the fashion show was poised to be an effective draw and fundraiser, just what Ms. Kholostenko hoped. An event marketer by trade, Ms. Kholostenko recognized the appeal of creating an opportunity for women to come face-to-face with this alluring collection—all while helping an important cancer research and support charity.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s San Francisco Bay Area Chapter ran its 2008 Man & Woman of the Year Campaign from March 6 through May 10. The ten-week fundraising competition concluded at a Grand Finale Gala held on at the Palace Hotel. The 2008 candidates raised more than $200,000 for blood cancer research and patient services.

Giving in to the demand created by the fashion show’s success, Oksana Couture also donated a gown to the Grand Finale Gala.
